The client: Ably Resources’ client is a world leading design, engineering and project management consultancy. They have recently been awarded a long term framework contract for the design of local roads and drainage, in the State of Qatar. As a result we are currently looking for a Deputy Design Manager with a minimum of 10 years experience in Highways and Roads projects to join for their team in Qatar.
Role and responsibilities:
• Reporting to and deputising for Highways Design Manager
• Delivery of all aspects of highway design at concept, preliminary and detailed design stages of infrastructure projects
• Ability to produce, review and approve designs and reports, departure applications and other client deliverables
• Review and approve design of highways design including roundabouts and junctions conforming to AASHTO/DMRB standards
• Review and approve project design drawings from concept to the tender stage
• Review and approve technical specifications for various components for tender and contract documents
• Preparation of project design reports, programmes, resource schedules
• Liaison with the Design Managers, Project Managers, Stakeholders and client/client organisations
