Project / business overview
Key role objective
The key objective for this role is the technical leadership and delivery of a wide range of electrical engineering projects which vary in size, complexity, cost and building use both in the public and private sectors.
Key areas of responsibility
Priorities in this role will include:
Delivery of electrical engineering projects to time and to budget
Management of project resource requirements in conjunction with Associate director
Ability to liaise with client, design team and site team is essential
Ability to design economical, sustainable and buildable schemes to tight time and budget deadlines
Involvement in office technical activities such as writing design guides.
Mentoring junior engineering staff
Providing technical guidance and direction to design team
Hands on design from inception through to construction documentation
Reports to Associate/Associate Director
Basic Qualifications
Key requirements
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills:
Experience working in a consultancy and multi-disciplinary engineering / design office
Good communication and client facing skills
Proven track record delivering projects to time and budget
Experience planning project resources
Ability to provide guidance, leadership and motivation to engineers and technicians who are working alongside on various projects
Full working knowledge of electrical and Extra low voltage systems design
Experience with British, American and international standards
Experience with LEED or other recognized sustainable design guideline
Familiar with main software packages such as Dialux, Amtech, Elevate, etc
Familiar with and able to compile both NBS and CSI electrical specifications
Minimum qualifications
A relevant qualification, BEng(Hons) / Eng or equivalent
Chartered or demonstration this is in the process of being achieved
10 years relevant experience
Preference will be given to applicants with Qatar professional engineer registration
