Senior Projects Management Officer - Qatar Foundation

Brief Posting Description The Senior Projects Management Officer is responsible for managing projects that SDC is involved in, establishes economic objectives of projects in line with organizational goals and monitors projects to ensure that the defined objectives are met. Detailed Description Participate in conducting and revieiwng the feasibility studies of projects and investments.  Develop project plans for the new projects and setting performance goals for the existing projects in line with departmental objectives, and in preparing project schedules.  Participate in executing planned projects.  Monitoring and controlling applied projects and investments.  Reporting of business & financial performances of projects.  Allocates resources to the projects based on the project plans.  Prepares project cost estimations and develops and administers project budgets and fiscal controls.  Ensures that projects are executed as per plan. Intervenes where required to manage contingencies and roadblocks.  Managing Contract Relationships and select appropriate contractors based on qualification, quality and cost considerations. Enters into contract agreements in line with project specifications. Ensures that contractors perform works in accordance with quality, cost and time schedule requirements.  Advises management about property and liability insurance coverages needed with respect to projects and assets.  Ensures that all projects are executed within the requirements of legal and organizational policy requirements, with respect to financial management, accounting, health, safety and environmental domains.  Works closely with junior colleagues to mentor and develop their skills by identifying areas of development with constructive feedback, sharing knowledge and guiding work. Develop plans and conduct reports for projects.

General Summary of Duties:
• HSE Manager is responsible for the design implementation, communication and coordination of all environmental, health, and safety programs for the Division.
• This position will develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all HSE aspects related to the projects, which bear critical importance to overall Division objectives, operations, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Directs the resources and activities of the Division to support the HSE programs by providing advice and guidance to the Company Senior Management.
• Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the Division to create a culture that prioritizes effective HSE and balances overall associated costs
• Review internal HSE policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate; conduct hazard and risk assessments and change existing, or develop new recommendations from these assessments
• Serve as the Division expert within the field of HSE when called upon to address regulatory agency compliance issues, third party safety & liability consultants and subcontractor representatives.
• Responsible for the staffing and directing the Divisions HSE Department, including the management of all Field Safety Managers and staff.
• Provide regular written reports, as well as other production-related results and updates to theSenior Management Team.
• Assist project team in investigation of all project incidents (GL/WC/ Recordable Incidents, NearMiss and First Aid) and ensure proper records are completed and submitted.
• Assist in implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident and ensure “lessons learned” are communicated throughout the Company and are incorporated into the program, if necessary
• Devise, supervise, and coordinate training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote HSE consciousness.
• Actively participate in the scheduling of safety meetings across Company locations to review HSE performance and policies
• Address specific reporting and record keeping requirements of OSHA, EPA, etc., as well as other pertinent safety/regulatory compliance matters and to ensure project sites are in compliance
• Oversight of Division’s HSE incentive programs and periodically reviews them to ensure they are accomplishing the desired results. Make necessary changes to the program to maximize effect.
• Participate/attend industry related conferences when requested to do so.

• Arrange the issue of Project Quality Plans, Project Management Plan, and Project Implementation Plan.

• Provides input to management on organization performance metrics, and process or procedural system improvements.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as directed by the Senior Construction QA/QC Manager.

The role of the Commerical Officer OCC is to add a pan-commercial to all operational disruption decisions. In this role, you will take into consideration the needs of the customer, options available through inventory access, dispersal potential, interline agreements and current customer feedback. You must be able to pro-actively weigh up the risks and opportunities and communicate this effectively to other CC representatives.

You will gather and coordinate commercial feedback - Global Sales, Field Sales, Distribution, Revenue Management for use in CC decisions. You are required to find solutions to problems as quickly as possible, ensuring all problems are dealt with fairly, honestly and openly.

 

 

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role must have worked in a Commercial role for at least 3 years. You must have good knowledge of Amadeus, DCS, Altea/LSY, AIMS systems. You must have the ability to understand and analyse Origin/Destination dimensions of passenger flow across the network and has the ability to interact and communicate with all facets of the Airline.

You must possess strong quantitative skills and advance problem solving capabilities. You must be pro-active and able to work without direct Commercial supervision. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and you must be able to work under strong pressure.
