Contracts Manager

ROLE PURPOSE:

They are responsible for negotiation, correspondence, internal and external coordination of deliverables, documentation control, service delivery for major supplier and client contracts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Contract Writing & Review:

 Coordinates proposal preparation, statements of work and specifications.
 To be able to draft instructions for non-standard contract instructions of moderate to high-level complexity.
 Responsible for establishing and managing a contract requirements action list which identifies the contractually required notices and the individuals responsible for initiating each notice.

Understanding & Compliance by Procedures & Policies:
 Identification of contract procedures, company regulations and any need to modify them is essential, as is the ability to use good judgment, negotiation and creativity to bring about resolutions to contractual issues.
 Be able to oversee and instruct contract professionals while at the same time perfecting his own knowledge of policies and procedures, contract law within the Gulf and beyond, other operating subsidiaries and any applicable international contract law

Understanding of Regulations (Local & International) and Bid Terminologies:
 Assist in the preparation of bids, including legal and commercial terms and conditions.
 Review all bid commercial terms to develop and establish protective terms and conditions for international contracts.
 Review and edit proposed contractual language

Contract Negotiation:
 Negotiates and establishes contractual terms, conditions and prices.
 Involvement in negotiation and final acceptance of both customer and vendor contracts.
 Participates in and /or conducts proposal preparation, negotiation, administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfilment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
 Responsible for negotiation review, interpretation, acceptance, monitoring, revision and/or changes to proposed and/or current government contracts from receipt to conclusion.

Liaison & Reporting:
 Prepares and presents status and progress reports to customer and executive management.  Review, manage and oversee all legal contracts.
 Advises management of contractual rights and obligation; compiles and analysis data; and maintains historical information.
 Ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.

Strategic Planning & Advisory Practices:
 Serve as points of contact with internal departments
concerning specific contract questions, issues, and problems
 Advises management of contractual rights and obligation; compiles and analyses data; and maintains historical information.
 Participates in strategic acquisition planning/pursuit, including drafting, negotiating teaming agreements, strategic alliance and other binding and non-binding documents, including offset/countertrade documents.
