ROLE PURPOSE:

Performing administrative support services and general clerical tasks for the legal department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Communicating:

a. Assisting with presentations to clients, prospective clients, and related industry seminars.
b. Maintaining good public relations with clients and business associates.


 Managing information or general administration support:
a. Handling case files and preparing court case bundles.
b. Performing research on legal matters and liaising with clients. Taking notes of witness declarations and assessing the information.
c. Coordinating meetings, handling general office work & performing administration related tasks.
d. Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas
e. Prepare affidavits or other documents, maintain document file, and file pleadings with court clerk.
f. Drafting and proofreading legal documents
g. Working with fellow paralegals to maintain prearranged and wide-ranging file indexes and case files.

 Evaluating and decision-making:
a. Investigate facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.
b. Gather and analyses research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.

 Quality control:
a. Keep and monitor legal volumes to ensure that law library is up-to-date.

 Duty of care responsibility:
a. Arbitrate disputes between parties and assist in real estate closing process.
b. Call upon witnesses to testify at hearing.
