Universities Technical Collaboration Manager - Shell

Job Purpose:
Develop and deliver innovative and sustainable University Relations initiatives to fuel the talent pipeline and meet the present and future workforce needs of the business.

Dimensions:

a) Responsible for 300,000 USD Annual budget.
b) Wide range of networking with universities and other educational and research institutions in Qatar.

Principal Accountabilities:

Collaboration and Participation:
 Identifying, building and maintaining strategic collaborative partnerships with universities and other educational and research institutions in Qatar.
 Acts as main Shell focal point to all events with universities and other educational institutions in Qatar.
 Scrutinizes and filters sponsorship for universities according to business strategy and selection matrix.
 Participates, plays active role in various technical advisory committees with universities.
 Sustained relationships with targeted department, influential faculty, and students.
 Plan to manage participation of Shell in symposiums, conferences or forums with universities and other educational and research institutions.
 Evaluate and review shell contribution to the technical contents of various events organized by universities and other educational including technical conferences, research forum (e.g. QF forum) and industry related workshops (e.g. SPE).
 Develop, support and facilitate joint R&D programs and related activities with universities and other educational and research institutions.
 Support Shell technical contents in exhibition stands.

Technical Knowledge Transfer

 Planning and scheduling technical activities with universities such visits, lectures, seminars and competitions games.
 Create, plan and implement programs that attract technical talented students.
 Monitor and evaluate the impact of the various educational and outreach activities with universities.
 Plan and champion competitions programs designed to engage students in areas key to technical and leadership development.
 Give/ arrange technical, motivational lecture, seminars to students.
 Expose students to a proper conceptual engineering knowledge with industrial.
 Support technical internship project for students in coordination with HR and related departments.
 Supports QSRTC to design and deliver learning sessions to students from universities and schools
 Supports QSRTC to maintain top profile of relation, contact and activities with universities in Qatar.
 Attend select campus and diversity recruiting events and career fairs
 Work in close tandem with campus ambassadors and communication department to promote Shell.

Key Challenges:

 Working in a high profile location and ensuring the relationship with universities remains cordial and cooperative.
 Manage and execute active participation in universities events such as symposiums, summits, forums.
