ICT Manager-Defects - New Sourcing International

Job Summary:

The ICT Manager - Defects will work with suppliers/vendors to manage defects that arise during testing (or potentially in running operational services). This will involve managing and tracking defects from reporting to resolution and identification of root causes and lessons learned to ensure the management of underlying problems highlighted by how defects arose.
The incumbent will ensure the effective delivery and technical direction of ICT activities undertaken by HMC to support the organization’s vision, mission and values. ICT Managers will maintain a motivated and skilled workforce, and direct and coordinate activities consistent with established corporate objectives, policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of sufficient systems capability.

Specific Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership managing the way software, hardware and human system defects are identified, recorded, analyzed and resolved both during testing and once they are in live production service.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and a plan to manage defects through the cycle from identification to resolution.
• Work with Project Managers and other stakeholders to understand the priority of defects to ensure that the most important are dealt with first.
• Identify and resolve underlying problems that may be causing defects to arise.
• Use HP Application Lifecycle Manager (Quality Centre) to document the defect cycle.
• Collaborate with suppliers/vendors to ensure that defects are addressed to ensure timely resolution and that they meet their contractual obligations.
• Ensure that staff that need to be involved in managing defects understand their roles and work effectively as a team.
• Applying the principles of ITIL and the best practice use of HP Application Lifecycle Manager (Quality Centre)
