Anatomy and Microbiology Laboratory Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Working under the direction of the Anatomy Laboratory Manager and the Director of Host Defenses course, provides support in the anatomy laboratory, cadaver preparation area, and microbiology laboratory.  Also provides technical assistance to the prosector in providing specimens for teaching and examination in anatomy. For the Microbiology laboratory part, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the medical teaching program and to engage in handling labs in the Host Defenses course. The language of instruction at WCMC-Q is English.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Assists with the daily maintenance of the
anatomy and microbiology laboratories: providing support for all technical and material aspects relative to the use of cadaveric material for education. Ensures the cleanliness and serviceability of the anatomy and microbiology laboratories, dissection equipment, uniforms, and cadaver preparation areas.
2. Assists with cadaver preparation for all
phases of teaching including the performance of: bisections and transections, calvaria removal,   laminectomies and other procedures as required by the Anatomy faculty. 
3. Provides assistance to the prosector in the preparation of detailed demonstration dissections for teaching. Utilizes a variety of hand held surgical equipment such as scalpels, scissors, chisels, hammers, manual and electric saws, and larger equipment such as the bandsaw and fork lift, when required.
4. Prepares
prosections to be utilized for teaching in Open Labs and in the Exams.  Tracks student attendance in the Lecture and Dissection Hall, and maintains a record of the same.
5. Enforces all safety regulations and procedures associated with contact of embalmed and unembalmed tissues, fluids and hazardous chemicals used in embalming, as well as all general laboratory safety procedures.
6. Assists with maintaining the computerized system to organize and track cadaver procurement related records. Works in conjunction with the Division of Environmental Health and Safety to maintain the highest levels of safety standards.
7. Assists with the process for proper preservation of cadavers and the safe refrigeration and storage of cadaveric material. Assists with preparation and thereafter cleaning of anatomy exhibition pavilion
8. Prepares and conducts
laboratory practical classes, and guides students in the microbiology laboratory sessions.
9. Obtains specimens,
cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis in the microbiology lab. Inoculates broths, or other bacteriological media with organisms, and grows microbe cultures in the microbiology laboratory.
10. Responsible for maintaining the inventory of equipment and supplies in the both laboratories. Complies with laboratory safety procedures,
and performs other job related duties as required.

Description

The Product Manager, e-Services for the Banking industry must:


- Develop new eServices products and services under the bank's multiple channels, and enhance existing offerings.- Develop and implement self service strategies in conjunction with the Head of eServices to achieve the required targets in customers, transactions, and revenue.- Establish revenue and cost budgets and ensure the budgets are adhered to, and continuously monitor eServices performance.- Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring the performance of eServices- Provide input to Head of eServices on strategies that encompass customer, transaction, education, and marketing strategies for individual or bundled eServices, and implement approved strategies.- Analyze customer and market needs to gauge customer preferences and ensure that eServices are designed and implemented with the customer in mind.- Design and implement customer awareness and promotional programs to keep the customer engaged.- Ensure optimal availability of eServices to maximize retail sales and service delivery and thereby facilitate the achievement of the retail banking volume, revenue, and profit targets.- Conduct competitive research to evaluate local, regional and international eService standards within other banks and provide input on the eServices roadmap to Head of eServices.- Strive to continuously improve the Retail e-channel offerings to gain competitive advantage.


Profile

The Product Manager, e-Services must have:
- 6 years experience in the development/ implementation of eServices in banking or FMCG, of which at least 3 years in a similar position.- Bachelor's degree.- Well-informed of latest trends in eServices and self-service trends, technologies, industry best practices and related regulations.- Proven track record of product development and management.- Superior knowledge of self-service applications and technologies.- Good sales/ marketing and finance background.
